In October to November 2020, we carried out a survey of businesses to find out the impact of the first nationwide lockdown. We wanted to find out how they adapted to the rapidly changing situation, what they did to cope, and how their business recovered once the measures were eased.
Our survey gathered responses from a whole range of sectors, from construction to manufacturing, and gave us a wealth of information to help us form a picture of business adaptation and survival.
Key areas of research included how key worker businesses were able to adapt to meet new COVID security measures, and how other businesses adapted to remote working. We also investigated cyber security concerns and communication between homeworkers.
To gain lessons for the future, we also investigated how businesses felt they coped with the unprecedented crisis, whether business continuity plans and ISOs helped them, and whether they feel their businesses are stronger as a result.
